SEARCH IS ON FOR ARMOR ALL GOLD COAST 600 VOLUNTEERSThe search is on for volunteers for the Armor All Gold Coast 600, which will hit the streets of the Gold Coast from Friday October 22 to Sunday October 24.
The three day, three night event will bring the Gold Coast alive with V8 Supercars’ highly successful Rock ‘N’ Race format set to see the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series racing on-track during the day and 16 Australian and International acts rocking each night.
Now promoted by V8 Supercar Events, the Armor All Gold Coast 600 is seeking enthusiastic volunteers across a wide variety of roles, suitable for all ages (from 15 years and up) and stages of experience, with applications open via the official event website – www.goldcoast600.com.au.
Armor All Gold Coast 600 General Manager Shane Howard said the Gold Coast event would be the perfect opportunity for anyone with an interest in motorsport, entertainment or volunteering in general to get trackside and contribute to one of Queensland’s premier events.
“I am pleased to be able to say that applications to join the 2010 Armor All Gold Coast 600 volunteer team are now open, and there are a wide range of positions available with no previous experience needed for most,” said Howard.
“There are many benefits to being involved in the team, including access to exclusive functions and the chance to get behind the scenes of one of Queensland’s premier entertainment events.
“All volunteers and officials are provided with an official uniform, certificate and commemorative patch as well as lunch and drinks, plus lots more.
“Whether you are 16 or 60, a first time volunteer or a veteran, there is something to suit you, so be sure to check out the options under the event information tab of www.goldcoast600.com.au for more information and to access the application portal – be as quick as possible, as applications close on August 20.”
The Armor All Gold Coast 600 will feature 18 international drivers from 12 countries paired with the V8 Supercar stars for the third endurance event on the V8 Supercar Championship Series calendar by day, and 16 International and Australian acts by night in a continuance of V8 Supercars’ highly successful Rock ‘N’ Race format.

Volunteer Positions:
Volunteers do not require any previous Event experience; however they do need to be aged 15 years or older.
Below are the positions available and a short description of what each entails.
Corporate Facility Usher
Required shift hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm
Corporate Facility Ushers meet and greet our corporate guests and are responsible for the access into these facilities. They are instrumental to the overall guest experience.
Gatekeepers
Required shift hours: AM Shift: 6:30am – 12:30pm; PM Shift: 12:30pm – 7:00pm
This role is responsible for checking the tickets for all those entering the venue and issuing pass-outs for all those exiting the venue with the intention of re-entering. So if you like the outdoors, this may be the job for you.
Grandstand Ushers
Required shift hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm
If you like being amongst it, then why not look at becoming a Grandstand Usher. This role is responsible for checking tickets, guiding guests to their seats and monitoring crowd behavior.
Information Booth
Required shift hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm
Love to know everything? Or willing to give it a try! The Information Booth is where everyone goes to find out all there is to know about the Event and the precinct, such as directions, what’s on and transportation. So if you are good with people and love being amongst it all, then this role is ideal for you.
Volunteer Check-In
Required shift hours: 5:50am – 1:00pm
If you’re an early bird, than this is the ideal role for you. Assist the team in distributing meals and drinks and coordinate sign-on for our team of Volunteers, including monitoring Volunteer absentees.
Officials Positions:
CAMS accredited Officials will be required to fill the following positions:
- Fire Marshal
- Flag Marshal
- Grid Marshal
- Medical Official
- Race Control
- Recovery Marshal
- Scrutineer
- Supply Marshal
- Timekeeper
