31 The Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra - “Star Struck!” Saturday 31 July at 7.30 pm & Sunday 1 August at 2.30 pm, ROBINA COMMUNITY CENTRE. Conductor: Mark Turpin. The Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra is star struck with talent and will be presenting a concert featuring soloists performing their favourite concerto movements. 21  BeachCare community dune care - Mermaid Beach. Come along to a community dune planting activity at your local beach on Saturday 21 August from 1.30-3.30pm. You can make a difference to improve the Gold Coasts beach environment by planting native species and removing invasive weeds. The Lions Club of  Palm Beach-Currumbin is one of the oldest Lions Clubs on the Gold Coast, In its 53rd year of service to the local community and is renown for its community and friendly spirit.  The club has a huge list of community achievements including driving the John Flynn Hospital patient buggy daily, and meets at the Palm Beach Sports Club, Throwers Drive, Palm Beach, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month at 6.30pm. To achieve continued success we are inviting community minded men to come and experience our friendship at a club dinner meeting which always has very interesting guest speakers.

Guide Dogs Queensland has provided Guide Dogs as well as a wide range of services to Queenslanders who are blind and vision impaired for over 45 years. Currently we receive less than 7 per cent in government funding to provide some basic rehabilitation services but no funding for the breeding and training of Guide Dogs.
