THE YEAR OF THE GREAT VAMPIRE SQUID by Catherine Austin Fitts, Mapping the Real Deal www.solari.com The world’s most powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money. - Matt Tabbi, “Inside the Great American Bubble Machine” The Great Vampire Squid For years, it was hard for many of us to fathom the psychopathic nature of our financial elites, or to expand the meaning of Matt Tabbi’s marvelous description of Goldman Sachs, the great vampire squid. Squid seems a fitting name for the financial cartel that drives what I have traditionally called the Tapeworm. There were some who saw the danger immediately and tried to warn us, like Sir James Goldsmith. There were some, like myself, who tried to prevent the housing bubble and find alternatives to investing our life savings in it. While those efforts did not stop the squid, they certainly made it clear that the squid take down of the planet was, indeed, a plan. That’s all documented now. |

HACKERS EXPOSE GLOBAL WARMING COVER-UP One of the world’s leading climate change research centres has been accused of manipulating data on global warming after thousands of private emails and documents were leaked.
Hackers targeted the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit and published the files, including some personal messages, on the internet.
Among the most damaging is one which appears to suggest using a ‘trick’ to massage years of temperature data to ‘hide the decline’. |

BIG CHILL ON GLOBAL WARMING
(from the Washington Examiner) Something important is happening when even the BBC is compelled to ask, as it did this week, “What happened on global warming?” The British news organization has heretofore insisted that the scientific consensus was cemented long ago that global warming is real and is mainly caused by human use of carbon-based fossil fuels. What has happened is; global temperatures have dropped every year since 1998, recent peer-reviewed research has uncovered the decisive influence of hot and cold cycles in the oceans on land temperatures; and growing numbers of scientists with unquestioned credentials are stepping forward to question the conventional wisdom. |

FARMERS ARE BEING PUSHED BEYOND THE LIMIT "HUNGER striker Peter Spencer has ended his 52 day protest over farmers' property rights and Australia's climate change responsibilities but will continue his fight "on the ground" supporters said today (13 Jan 2010)." www.theaustralian.com.au Background article by Michael Duffy (June 18, 2005)
THIS week I heard grief at the end of the phone line. They're coming to take away Peter Spencer's sheep. Next week he will meet relatives to decide whether to walk off his farm, which is near Bredbo. Spencer is the latest victim of the drought, and also of the cruel green war against farmers that the State Government has been waging for the past decade. |

PETITION AGAINST CARBON POLLUTION REDUCTION SCHEME OPEN LETTER by Senator Steve Fielding As you would have heard by now the Australian Parliament voted against the Government’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) on Wednesday of last week.
Whether you agree or disagree with global warming or a CPRS, the fact is most Australians still have many questions they want answered before any emissions trading scheme is passed by our Federal Parliament.
1) Is the science right? (in other words, are we certain that man-made carbon dioxide emissions are the leading cause of climate change)
2) What effect will the CPRS have on the Australian economy? (especially if we commit to targets before the rest of the world and major economies like China, Russia, India and the USA)
3) What are the costs and the benefits of alternative emissions trading schemes? (is there a more effective way to achieve emission reductions than the government’s CPRS)
